actually i have no idea what png stands for which is pretty bad considering im taking computing a level

im pretty sure PNG stands for Portable Network Graphics here's something on and DarkShadow you can't be expected to know everything =P

yet a gif can contain a small animation, its funny, i mean it is known on basic programs like photoshop ( trust me it is basic compared to some of the proffesional gear) jpeg is the top quality one

the alpha channel, if you looka at vexs sprites they have alpha channels thats how there 3d this is haw rafitz explained it to me
basically go in to the filters then render then ligting effects the chose the alpa channel in the bit at the bottomraffitz wrote:Prometheus class:

Did you notice the simpleness of the alpha channel compared to the complexity of the ship? try to do something like that, because the objective isn't the big sprite...
