You know, for a while now I've wanted to create a real time strategy game but I know only a little bit about programming and stuff like that. But I could probably create the animations pretty easily once I got used to it. As for the scripting I know enough to get by, I think seeing how I was able to make new scripts work in a map editor that was for one of the games I used to play.

With programming it is very important to make sure that different objects like for instance two different types of vehicles are completely seperated from each other because if they aren't then you get bugs.

yes but that destroys useability and make editing a lot harder

All the vehicles info can be in the same file but you organize it so that one vehicle is seperated from the next by a few lines but in the code for the vehicle you give it a name and also a name which acts to identify it to the game itsself, also near the top of the file you assign each vehicle a number that indicates to the computer where to find it. If you want I can find a sample from a game I used to play, rather an ini file for the game.
