Thanks Josh If anyone wants to know, I use a program called 3d Studio Max. And it is VERY good for 3-D stuff.

Well if youre looking for free 3-D software, look up Anim8tor and Blender. Be warned though, Blender has an incredibly complex interface.

i am a very quick learner when it comes to programs i mean it took me sbout a week to get the hang on photoshop and flash, btw does 3d animation require any like coding knowledge ? cos ive away wonder or is it just like tweens in flash ?

If you mean like writing scripts, it is possible. But a simpler way is to use the 3d work station (where your objects are created and placed) and make animations simply by pointing and clicking.

yeh that what i meant like in flash nwhere you tell your object where you want it to go by dragging it, oh well but you still have to have it your creating a game or sumin yes

If you were to create a 3-D video game, it would most definitely need coding and a good game engine to run on. Blender has a 3-D game engine built into the program, and if I remember correctly its coded in C++.

its good but it doesnt look very realistic atm also the excelsior looks out of proportion to the rest of the station but yeh its still better than i could do

How doesnt it look realistic? Is it because of the station? It's probably because the DS9 model is a few years old.

well the render doesnt look that good is that the right term or it might be because the edges are kinda sharp yeh that probably it but i mean its good

Yea, like I said, the model is a few years old, and it was designed mostly for a video game. I'll probably end up using a different model of the station in the final video.
