If you fancy reading though something like, what is it, 40,000 lines of code to find errors that people have already looked for several times and failed to find the errors. Go right ahead. As for the rest of us, we will be sitting and laughing as you fail to find the code errors that even the original creator of the game (Vex) Looked for and failed to find, and he wrote the code.

My point is simply that it's considered very unprofessional in the development community to release something doted as a "Beta," then immediately begin work on a sequel.

As opposed to specific bugs, there are quite frankly too many to mention with just the original game. If you go to its Kongregate page, the majority of them are spammed in the comments quite regularly, and if you have someone play through the game fresh as a play-tester, they'll be able to point out quite a bit to you as well.

what the fuck are you talking about broken mirror was never released as a beta, bm2 was however that project was abandoned by its original creator and finished by me 2 years later in that time darkwing started bm3, so get your fats straight before you start calling people unprofessional.

Calm SS.

Totentag: Literally seconds after I posted that I looked at the BM source code I got from here, found a few bugs, fixed them and also revamped the game a little. Also just looked at kongregate all I see is a "bug" about space stations disappearing after leaving galaxy. Honestly I always managed to get a station after a few tries so I assumed it was a part of the game, some enemy fleet got through your defences and destroyed the station.

To be honest, SS has all rights to be pissed, being called unprofessional considering the work he's given and the amount of effort given is frankly very insulting to him. Also I think since then you've gotten more accustomed to the code and such. Just wish you'd be able to post the "Revamped" version you've done and I too only saw the station glitch as enemy fleets coming in and fucking it up. Maybe there should have been a notification coming up when you warped saying YOUR station had been destroyed. Eh, nonetheless I'd still like to see your revamped beefed version.

Oh I know, he does have the right to be mad but maybe Totentag's meaning of beta is that if a game has bugs it's a beta to him. Yeah sure just give me a little while I'll send you a pm. As for the warning, I could do something like 'Your station in the X system has been destroyed.' But i'd have to find the code that shows whether it is actually part of the game, or just a glitch.

no its a bug its just an error to add the new station to the stations array theres nothing that can be done about it its just a saving glitch after you leave the system

I'll be looking forward to seeing that PM dude! Also if you're looking for bugs, I have no idea. I don't recall encountering very many bugs with BM.

tbh bm or bm2 dont have to many bugs its just a few which some would consider game breaking but tbh there really not build bug is easy to get around, the government bug in bm2 was something i fixed, most things considered bugs in bm2 are actually unfinished peices of code that vex left and i didnt have the ability to fix at the time so attempted to hide, as not to ruin the experience for players however people dont realise this and "like this is broken fix your game" or they have a go at me for there being like 150 different bm projects or mods made being made or whatever and that they are all the same with the same issue, which i dont take kindly to because honestly its not my problem flashtrek is and open source game at the end of the day no one has control about what people choose to do with it which at the end of the day is the entire principle of open source. if it creates cut and copies of the same game then thats just what happens people need to grow up and stop wining flashtrek as a game project is essientially 99% dead. darkwing may be working on his 3d flastrek but being that, that is 3d i dont think you can truly call it flashtreak as it not really in line with the rest of the genre of games.

any way just a huge stream of my thoughts there probably doesnt make much sense bu yeah my views on flashtrek atm

I understand that SS. Also what Nokia said, Only forgotten. I see Broken Mirror as a fun flash game you play when you're down or bored. I freaking loved the game. I am very excited for BMIII Only because it's a star trek genre of game. But I wouldn't call it Broken Mirror cause it defeats the entire feel.

If anyone wants to look at my 'revamped' BM here it is:

Edit: Go down 3 posts for the actual link. This was the debug version. Dunno why.

The only reason it would do that SS is because of the Debug version, except I got rid of it. That should work fine.

Edit: No, SS is right. I just downloaded it and checked it, for some reason the Debug version came back... Here is the actual one: Flash Trek: Broken Mirror(fixed)

Don't worry Genix, you're still smart. Apparently 4shared isn't. Somehow it re-uploaded the first which was the debug game.

One of them is that it uses adfly without my permission. No need to get giddy, it wasn't an overhaul or anything.

I know I know. I just like new things done to older things. I see you've improved upon the driving system in game? Everything is alot more responsive and the warp speed is faster. I also like the new amount of Latinum and Duranium you can hold.

I increased the frame rate from 15 to 20 so yeah it should run faster. And I dunno if setting the limit to 999 million is overkill or not. I mean you never really need that much.

Well, it was a tiny bit of overkill but the plus side to making it that much is that you don't actually need to trade that mcuh when you get it up there, with only having the limit before you added that you easily ran out then had to do some trading unless you had planets in which I usually just grinded latinum by warping from Cardassia to Vex over and over.
